MY NATIONAL GUARD SERVICE

I served with the United States Marine Corps from 1967-1971 
After a nine year break in service.......
I joined the
 
     in 1980.

I served with the 126th Supply and Service Company (now the 126th Maintenance Company) in Quincy IL from 1980 until 1983 and again from 1984 until 1987  I served as Operations Officer and on my return as the Commander of the unit.   
I also served with the 232d Supply and Service Battalion (Now the 232d Corps Support Battalion) in  Springfield Il from 1983 until 1984 and again from 1987 until 1989.My first assignment was as Petroleum Supply Officer. After my return, I was assigned as Class I (Food Service) Officer.
My last unit of assignment was with the Illinois Army National Guard State Area Command [STARC(-)] in Springfield IL from 1989 until 1997.My first assignment was as State Nuclear, Biological and Chemical Officer. I was then assigned as the Small Arms Readiness Training Section (SARTS) Officer in Charge. I later served as an Operations Officer and finally as a Training Officer.

I retired in 1997
 During my 17 years with the Guard, I had the opportunity to work with soldiers from the the major commands in the state. These included:
